More About Palm Coast Florida

In 1969, Palm Coast came to life when ITT Corporation bought several thousand acres of land in Flagler County to create a huge retirement community. Over the next several years, a resort hotel, marina, tennis center, and 4 golf courses were built.

However, during the years that followed, the area’s growth stagnated and ITT sold acreage to Palm Coast Holdings, and the golf courses and resort to a developer.

Finally, we see Palm Coast incorporate as a city at the end of 1999 with a population of 32,732.

Since that time, population growth spurts occurred, and around 2006, Palm Coast was named by the Census Bureau as the fastest growing city in the country in percentage terms.

Consequently, today, three major developers are active in the area. We see gated golfing communities, two yacht harbor/marina complexes, a fly-in community, a tennis complex, and an equestrian community.

There are houses, as well as several condominium projects.

The common thread in Palm Coast is Lifestyle. Therefore, examples are The Hammock area with its four magnificent golf courses (a fifth in the planning stages), a marina, and a resort complex.
